Project Ark Campaign, collaborating with WWF Romania
Our Project Ark Conservation Campaigns will always have 3 hallmarks: there will always be transparency for everyone, impact for the cause, and payment for our artists.
These campaigns will be at the forefront of our efforts to fund our WWF conservation projects, as well as other initiatives that Project Ark will support. Each campaign will consist of three elements.
- A financial target for the Crowdfunding effort.
2. NFT artwork created by talented artists, themed to suit each of the campaigns.
3. Rewards for everybody involved.
I.Crowdfunding target
Let’s begin with the first element in the mix, the crowdfunding goal. Each campaign will have a target to achieve, which includes the amount necessary to finance the project with the conservation partner, funds for the artists’ remuneration, and a contribution to cover the platform’s expenses. Each campaign will have a limited time period to achieve its target, and the only way to contribute to it is by purchasing the campaign’s themed NFTs. For our first partnership campaign in collaboration with WWF Romania, the crowdfunding target is goal will be set at $68,250.
II. Themed NFTs
We want to make sure that each campaign brings something unique to the NFT space, by combining the locale of the conservation project with the creativity of the artists involved. Thus, each campaign will have unique NFTs, relevant to the conservation project at hand.
For our first official campaign, which will be in Romania and launched over Easter 2021, our artists will honour the local annual tradition of decorating eggs at Easter time. This beautiful tradition dates back hundreds of years and is practised by families across the country.
This year Project Ark will be joining in the egg decorating by minting 318 NFT eggs:
200 Bronze eggs, 100 Silver eggs, 12 Gold eggs and 6 Platinum eggs. The Bronze and the Silver will be sold at a fixed price, while the Gold and Platinum will be auctioned.
The NFTs will respect the local traditions and biodiversity as well, picking up on the beautiful Carpathian forests theme, with endangered animals and beautiful scenery, from which the bison have now been returned to the wilderness after two hundred years.
III. Campaign Reward
At Project Ark, we believe that the traditional charity donation system doesn’t really provide a strong enough incentive for more people to participate more generously. With this in mind, we have designed our campaign in such a way that all stakeholders involved have something to gain.
If the crowdfunding campaign target is reached, it will trigger a reward for everybody involved in the project. This means that everybody will have an incentive to share the efforts, spread the word and participate in the crowdfunding campaign efforts.
For this Romanian campaign, the people who purchase an NFT Egg, regardless of its tier, will receive an additional NFT created by a renowned artist. However, if the crowdfunding campaign fails, no second NFT will be won.
Impact
After each campaign is finished, we will transfer funds in a transparent way to the conservation projects, but we will not stop there! For each completed campaign, a report will be generated that will show the impact achieved for the project on the ground. We will ensure there is visibility over the impact created, not just through the amount of money raised, which will allow for a better overview of the efforts undertaken.
This mechanism is not meant to put pressure on the project itself, as there is a degree of risk that the project might not be successful or that other factors can contribute to the failure of its intended purpose. Our objective is to nurture transparency at all stages of fundraising, through to deployment and provide a window into the NGOs operations and the impact created.
Common Questions.
- What happens if the crowdfunding goal is not reached within the time limit?
In this case, people will only enjoy the collection of the NFT egg, without enjoying the bonus NFT as well, and the produced artwork will be used for a future initiative.
2.What happens if there is more money raised?
Outside of the Bison pilot initiative, WWF Romania has numerous projects that require funding. In this regard besides the project that the money is intended to help, the report will include the additional funding’s impact and how it improved the operations and campaigns.
3.How do I know that my money made a difference?
For each campaign that we support, a report will be generated by the organization that we have partnered with, explaining the impact achieved and the outcomes of the project itself. We want to be fully transparent and keep you in the loop with as much information as possible from the project, without generating pressure for the NGO or making it heavily bureaucratized.
