UN World Wildlife Day — March 3, 2022
The Arkanauts are celebrating UN World Wildlife Day 2022 on March 3, 2022 and want to raise the voices of wildlife conservation and preservation efforts around the world. Plus, the Arkanauts are extending the offer for help and involvement to our community of environmentalists, which we already consider friends and family. Anyone can participate, as this is an opportunity to get involved.
To honor this day and what it stands for, the Arkanauts team will be releasing a limited-edition wild creature NFT series designed in accordance with the Arkanauts backstory.
Wild NFT creatures will be:
- airdropped at no charge to Arkanaut Mystery Utility Box holders.
- available by raffle to people that donate at least $50 in Solana to our World Wildlife Day fundraiser.
Those who donate $500 or more have a shot at a super-rare 1-of-1 version of this wild creature.
Also, 100% of royalties from secondary market sales of these NFTs will directly support the cause.
In a flash campaign, we want to raise funds for conservation efforts and launch a collection that provides 100% of its revenue to Wild Tomorrow Fund. We recognise and support their efforts to protect, restore, and re-wild habitats in a global biodiversity hotspot in South Africa. They are fighting for a wilder tomorrow, today. Funds will go toward the protection of threatened and endangered species and the habitats they depend on for survival. Wild Tomorrow Fund is focused on saving and restoring habitat in a biodiversity hotspot located in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The project that you will contribute to is protecting and restoring a wildlife corridor that is expanding wild space and will link two large wildlife reserves together, including a UNESCO World Heritage Wetland Park. The park was successfully declared a nature reserve last year, giving it legal protection at the same level as a national park. The corridor reconnects habitats for many threatened species from elephants, to black rhinos, giraffes, leopards, and many others, while providing extra climate resilience for both biodiversity and people. The larger end goal is to fully restore connectivity between the two protected areas we reconnect as a corridor. We respect their efforts and contribution to wildlife.
The number one reason for the dwindling wildlife numbers is habitat loss. As more than 40,000 species are threatened with extinction, the Arkanauts want to contribute to bending the curve and reducing that number. The Arkanauts fight for SDG 15 — life on land — and with every action, contribute to projects that protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and biodiversity loss.
